This has long been one of Pillot’s signature wines and the 2013 version should please everyone

anise and black tea notes that flash throughout

Oddly velvety

with a touch of mid-palate richness that makes it easy to drink now

The 1997 clearly belongs in this flight of milestones

all wrapped in a nicely complex and persistent finish

The 2004 Brane-Cantenac is a far better wine than the 2003

youthfully austere and mildly rustic finish

lush and offers length and character

So inky and unfathomably profound in shade

but recommended

it seems a bit light but the focus and intensity are such that I believe this will prove to be much more impressive than present appearances suggest
