Islay Single Malt 17 Year Old Duncan Taylor Octave 53.4% 70cl Berry Bros. & RuddIslay Single Malt 17 Year Old Duncan Taylor Octave 53. 4% 70cl A somewhat mysterious single malt from independent bottler Duncan Taylor here, in that it was distilled at an unnamed Islay distillery back in 2007. Part of the brands Octave series, it spent the last few months of its 17 year maturation in a tiny ex Amontillado sherry cask. Its smaller size means amped up flavour extraction, so expect a bold, rich, juicy fruit forward single malt here.

This distillery lies right on the coast in the small and picturesque town of Oban from which the distillery gets its name

rich dark spiced chocolate

a little sweet smoke helps keep the finish going for some time

Black Bull Kyloe 50% Vol -70cl

with some soft minty tones and spice

Adding a drop of water should you need it will give a slight oily fruity note

Nose: Citrus with hints of creamy lemon and vanilla

and a pleasingly relaxed expression for summer evenings

with the addition of some Oloroso sherry-aged stock
