Vintage Mid Century Lord Nelson Ware (Elijah Cotton Ltd) Fine Porcelain Cake Platter & Matching Cake Lifter Clocks & WatchesThe business was established by Elijah Cotton in Hanley in 1880. By 1885 he had outgrown the premises and built The Nelson Works alongside the Caldon canal. Although the business always remained in the Cotton family, its last known date of registration was in 1962. The item is a matching set which consists of the fine porcelain cake platter as well as the cake lifter. The plate has been decorated in one of Elijah Cottons LNE patterns which always had
It is still in very good usable condition and requires a good polish
The gentleman wears a sword by his side and bothe he and the lady are clothed in period dress

Each has been given prominent gold trim along scalloped rims while both are decorated in the Genevieve pattern
