The equally refined and pure medium weight flavors possess a beguiling sense of energy that also suffuses the lightly stony, precise and balanced finish. Old vines in the gravelly lower part of this plot are vinified first with whole bunches

What feels like top-quality new oak smooths the finish but does not impose itself

with toasted almond and vanilla notes alongside an underlying tautness/freshness aided by zesty citrus peel

a judicious touch of spice and a long and tender finish that is seamless

A famously large harvest and one where the inverse relationship between quantity and quality did not really hold sway as this terrific Celebris so eloquently demonstrates

yet comes in a powerful package

The natural characteristics of this vintage include higher total acidity

full-bodied flavours of this wine

offering an excellent mouthfeel

with about 5% still red Pinot
