Braeval 16 Year Old Tri Carragh 62.7% 70cl NVBraeval 16 Year Old Tri Carragh 62. 7% 70cl Releases from delicate, grassy Speyside distillery Braeval are lesser spotted and this Tri Carragh bottling is a real treat. Distilled back in 2010, its been aged for over 16 years, including a seven month finishing period in a second fill red wine octave. Its imparted a zesty, berry character into the liquid, making it a superbly summery sipper. Just 92 bottles will ever be released. Official tasting notes:

Matured in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez cask

The palate continues with stewed apples

melon and soft

but this first-fill Merlot barrique continues the legacy

It’s been bottled at natural cask strength with no added colour or chill-filtration

Palate: As this dram hits the front of the palate we find rich sherry cask notes

dried sultana and raisin cake bars with  a long and resinous finish that includes some dark red fruits and a hint of treacle
