Description

1940's Selmer Air Flow Metal 1st Generation sebastian knoxHere is a rare, original condition 1940's Selmer "Table C" tenor mouthpiece. This mouthpiece measures . 063" on my gauge. These first generation metal Selmer mouthpieces are about as beautiful as they come. Elaborate decoration on the shank, unique fluting on the sides and a squeeze chamber that was futuristic compared to the very large chambers being made in the U. S. This would be a nice mouthpiece for a collector looking to match original equipment

It is engraved "DG TBA 768"

1994 in Brookly

low baffle that creates a very powerful but open sounding response

The second reason is that it's on my 'I'd love to work on" list

I made sure to include many photos to see the scratches on the surface

This one has its matching ligature which are increasingly difficult to find

It has the steep beak from this period and as shown

Berg Larsen was the first manufacturer to incorporate non round shapes into the mouthpiece geometry in order to increase projection and brightness

One scratch looks like the number "2" on the barrel but when you see it from another angle it's just a surface scratch

top quality rubber and expert finish work

While in overall excellent condition it needs to be pointed out that there are some very noticeable scratches in the floor toward the chamber

These are the designs that all modern 'jazz' mouthpieces are compared to
