Description

Bruno Giacosa, Barolo Croera Morra Vintage:2004Bruno Giacosa's 2004 Barolo Croera is an excellent choice for drinking over the next decade or so. A pretty, understated wine, the Croera offers lovely balance in a feminine style that is typical of La Morra. Rose petal, mint, sage, crushed raspberries and anise shape the aromatic, mid weight finish. If opened today, the 2004 needs a bit of air to soften the tannins a touch. The Croera is the one and only Barolo Bruno Giacosa made from La Morra.

Discreet but not invisible wood sets off notes of grapefruit

There is great balance

intense and decidedly powerful large-scaled flavors possess excellent detail on the finish that firms up very fast

In addition to being a highly regarded vintage with perfectly balanced weather conditions

orange peel and white peach

the Roagna 2014 Barbaresco Albesani opens to a medium ruby color with pretty garnet highlights

Good acidity

plush and soft

This is seriously good juice with the potential to match

The Pingus vines were planted in 1929 in two different sectors of the village of La Horra

I like the balance as well as the well-integrated structure that should enable this to offer 7 to 9 years of improvement

Strong reduction obliterates the nose though there is plenty of vibrancy and life to the mineral-driven
