Tillandsia 'Double Ruth'Tillandsia 'Double Ruth' is a hybrid between T. magnusiana and T. compressa. Created by Paul T. Isley of Rainforest Flora, a massive Bromeliad nursery i had the pleasure to visit in California. 'Double Ruth' has the shape of magnusiana but with a slightly wider, stiffer leaf, it has a lovely color, silvery grey with purplish shades towards the middle. The flower spike is an improvement on magnusiana and reminiscent of the pollen parent T. compressa,

It is in the Tillandsia sub genus Diaphoranthema a group which contains most of the smaller growing species such as aizoides

Neoregelia lilliputiana grows to only a few inches tall making it the perfect Vivarium/terrarium plant
